QuickPass for webOS

Introduction:

QuickPass is a simple password management and storage app for webOS. QuickPass exists for two reasons:
1. You should never use the same password for multiple sites.
2. It is impossible to remember all those passwords.

QuickPass allows you to organize your accounts and their passwords by logical categories for easy retrieval. All data is encrypted with your provided password using the Blowfish encryption algorithm.

General Usage:

The first time you start the application, it will ask you for a password. Please pick a password that is both strong (not easily guessed by someone else) and memorable (something you will not forget!

There are two main screens for the application, the first shows you a list of categories and allows you to add more. When you tap on a category, it shows you the accounts in a given category. On this screen you can tap an account to view or modify it's details, or you can add a new account.

You can change your password from the Category List page. Tap the QuickPass command menu at the top, then tap Change Password.

FAQ

Q. Ooops, I forgot my QuckPass password, how can I recover it?
A. Sorry, you're out of luck. No-one can access your data without the original password (this is a good thing, right?).

Q. Ok, I've given it a few days and I still cannot remember my password, how do I start over again?
A. Un-install and re-install the application, you will get a new database.

Q. Do you back up the password database to a remote server?
A. I would never allow my personal password database (encrypted or not) to be transmitted to and stored on a remote server, so perhaps you shouldn't either? Yea, I know, my wife tells me I have control issues too.

Q. If you aren't copying my password database to a remote server, how can I back it up?
A. At the moment, you can back it up by mounting the webOS device as a USB Storage device and back up the database stored there. I suggest backing up the entire ".app-storage" folder on the USB drive.

Q. How do I restore the database later?
A. Follow the following steps:

  • Install QuickPass again
  • Run it and set your password
  • Mount your device as USB Storage
  • Overwrite the newly created db filename with the one you backed up

*Note that the new database may have a different file name. It can be found here:
.app-storage\file_.var.usr.palm.applications.org.javasanity.quickpass_0\
